The Ice Skater

Jewel of the deepest core
I adore thee, skating on thin ice
The blades cutting into the hearts
Of those who would die for you
The pieces lost in the dark
The happiness seeked will be found,
But not soon, not any time soon
For the angels curse the bloodstained blades
Those bloodstained blades under your feet
My prayer could change that though,
And forever veteran city will always love you
But for now, and only for now
The city has locked the jewel outside its gates
